Limasawa is a 6th class municipality and an island of the same name in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. It lies south of Leyte, in the Mindanao Sea. The island is about 10 km from north to south.

 

 

Located at Pintuyan, Southern Leyte; situated below an imposing rock edifice, this sanctuary can be reached by motorized banca in about two hours from Maasin upon prior arrangement with private operators. Hosts a variety of marine life; the underwater contour is actually a terrace full of distinct coral formations inhabited by large species of fish.
